The thought

We share photos all day.
They pile up unseen.

Bring one physical thing instead. A book that changed something in you. A stone from a beach you can still smell. A handwritten letter. A piece of jewellery. A worn-out object you've kept for reasons you can't quite explain.

Let that thing be the way you introduce yourself.

No phones in the room. Just chai, a small dish of poha, ten or twelve people, and the things we've quietly carried.

Five gentle steps.
Then we go home.

Arrive at 7 PM. Phones surrendered at the door.
Chai is poured. Poha is served. Settle in. Catch your breath.
Each person introduces their thing. Five minutes, no longer. No questions during. We listen.
Open conversation. The things stay on the table. The talk goes wherever it goes.
Depart by 9:30. Phones returned. Things go back home with their people.
A small note
What's poha?
A simple, fragrant dish from the heart of India — flattened rice cooked with mustard seeds, curry leaves, peanuts, onions, turmeric, and a squeeze of lemon. Light, warming, the kind of thing that goes well with conversation. Please tell us if you have allergies — we'll adapt.
What to bring

Truly, just
one thing.

One physical thing that means something to you
That's it

If you can't decide between two — that's a good problem. Bring whichever one your hand reaches for first.

Affordable. Around the cost of a coffee and a snack out — covers chai, poha, and the room. The phones will be paid for in attention.
